Klere builds the Energy Processing Unit (EPU).

A CPU, a GPU, and a TPU are each named for what they work on. The Energy Processing Unit (EPU) is named for what it spends. It is built to spend as little as possible.

An EPU answers by settling. Give it a question and it relaxes into the answer, the way a ball rolls to the bottom of a bowl. When it stops moving, the answer is there. When it will not settle, it says so instead of guessing.

What it knows and where it works are the same place. It learns on the device, and nothing it learns leaves the board. Every job comes back with a receipt.

Today the EPU fabric runs on a programmable chip, a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), in our lab. We measured what one step costs on it. The same job on an ordinary laptop processor cost a few thousand times more per step. No custom chip has been made yet.

Metabolic Intelligence is the AI. It is designed for Klere and runs on any compute fabric. Mixture of Limits is the philosophy behind both.
