Klere, the Energy Processing Unit

The future of AI is a model that runs on a USB stick.

A computer that answers by settling down. Plug it in, let it settle, and when it goes quiet the answer is there.

What it costs to think, we measured on real silicon. We did not simulate it.

Where this goes

Read, write, replace. The port is the reader.

Until now, smart hardware has meant building a new chip for every new idea. We are building intelligence to work the way the USB stick worked for storage. It should live in the device, be rewritable in place, and swap out in seconds.

KLERE the settling fabric
  • The model is a file, not a titleRewrite it in place, or swap it out for another. The goal is no new chip, no waiting, no permission.
  • What it knows stays on boardThe knowledge sits where the work happens, so it is not being fetched from somewhere else while it runs.
  • It learns where it sitsIt can write new facts on the device, in billionths of a joule, and nothing it learns leaves the board.
  • Every answer comes with a receiptEvery job comes back with a record of exactly what it did, so you can check it and reproduce it anywhere.

One design, meant to run from a sensor up to a rack. Start with one, add more when you need them.

Where it matters first

The places the cloud does not reach.

Start with the plainest example we know. A sensor sits on a pipeline a hundred miles from the nearest connection, and it has to notice when something is going wrong. Today it has two options. Ship everything back to a datacentre and wait, or stay simple and miss things.

We are building the third option, which is that it thinks where it sits, on the power it already has. The same part belongs on a satellite, in a clinic with a bad connection, or anywhere else that has to keep working when nobody is coming.

What's inside

Answers arrive by settling.

Give it a question and it relaxes into the answer the way a ball rolls to the bottom of a bowl. The physics does the work, and the moment it stops moving you have your result.

Where we are today

Built, measured, and honest about the rest.

The fabric runs today on a programmable chip in our lab, and we have measured what a single step of thinking costs on it. No custom chip has been made yet, and the stick is still ahead of us. Everything on this site is either something we measured or something we are building toward, and we say which.
